Alton Moore

Alton Moore, Underwriting Manager, Management Liability

After rotating through various insurance company departments as a college intern, Alton Moore found Directors & Officers insurance to be the most interesting. Following graduation in 1999, he worked for one specialty carrier for four years before joining LIU in 2003.

The job? “I love it. The people, the work, the job. In D&O you get a very close look at a company’s business and access to their top executives. We write a variety of innovative companies from technology firms to pharmaceuticals. You really understand what their business is all about. It’s practically a new education every day.”

Why LIU? “There’s a spirit of camaraderie and a lot of support. Furthermore, we know who we are, what we want to do, and how to get there.”

Career opportunities? “You’re expected to understand the business, contribute as much as possible, and pull your own weight. We operate without a lot of layers, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be heard. If you want to learn and contribute, no one will stop you.”
