Toni Barr, Senior Underwriting Specialist
With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Toni Barr has specialized in A&E Professional Liability for 18 years. She joined LIU in February 2006 and began underwriting the LIU A&E Professional Liability product in 2004 through a program manager. “The building design industry is complex,” she says. “The process involves so many different people and firms. I have a good understanding of the interconnected roles and relationships within the disciplines of the A&E community. I enjoy the risk analysis process and the customization of our product to suit the insured. Toni was drawn to LIU because the fit felt right. “I believe in being responsible,” she explains, “and so does LIU. When a broker sends a submission request, I respect the urgency, and I respond in kind. My philosophy is to be creative in providing solutions and risk management opportunities—and to balance this with the responsibility of accountable underwriting.”
